This journey stayed when I bought a pack of peanuts from the street side as I waited for a friend. The vendor was wearing a dhoti & the rural cap not often seen in urban India. The conversation that followed revealed that he was an artisan from the interiors of Maharashtra and the economic plight had reduced him to his current state.
Most things in life have coincidence as a start. This single incident paved the way for my quest to understand about our ancient folk art and artisans.
The weavers of different states of Maharashtra the embroidery, art forms, the fabrics , our Indian Handlooms all trying hard to keep their heritage alive, all struggling against the onslaught of modernity.
My mission to bring the weavers, there art into the mainstream is a slow but steady process.
The satisfaction comes that I have taken a step forward with ‘ “Indrayani” Handlooms a Maharashtra Govt. Undertaking . that helps the weavers by selling there products and keeping the tradition alive .

My life in this period when its going through its share of self-growth got me a mission to help the government and being a torch bearer of ” Indrayani ” gave me purpose, the anchor that gave me more essence as a artist and I know I alone can’t give these artisans what they deserve but know that many hands are going to join me to take this mission forward.
You with me in this Na ?
